CELEBRATE APRIL 15 — L.A.C. DAY — LAW ABIDING CITIZENS DAY
Filed under: General, Holidays
Posted by: site admin @ 10:25 am

Thank you for being an honorable, civilized, law-abiding citizen!  Today is the day we celebrate our common bonds and our American Heritage, which we all have if a citizen of the USA.  We invite you to celebrate by Thanking a fellow Law-Abiding Citizen and displaying one of Jan Polk’s Great American Flower Collection “respect series” images on your computer screen.  No charge.  Please follow this link for additional information about L.A.C. Day and GAFC images:  www.janpolk.com/1220.html

Our nation could not have become the greatest nation on earth without the majority of its people being honorable, civilized, self-governed, law-abiding citizens.  We respect life, our fellow citizens, and the rule of law.  We can manage very well on our own, until the government can help us out.  The key  word is “help,”…. not do it for us.  We believe in the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness but not at the expense of someone else.  In a civilized society, when in public, respect for fellow citizens is what makes our way of life work.   We are all valuable citizens.  United We Stand – Divided We Fall.  As a way to show respect to our country, we speak English. The way we dress in public shows respect to our fellow citizens.    When we don’t like a law, we peacefully change the law; until then we obey the law.  Thank you for being an honorable, civilized, self-governed, law-abiding citizen!

Want a closer look at something on your computer screen?

If you visit a website, and want a closer look because it is just too small to read, hold the control key down,

and press the “plus sign” key (upper left by the backspace key).  Continue holding control key down and hitting the

“plus sign” key and the type will get larger.   To make things smaller, hold control, and press the “minus sign” key

until it is the size you like.  Works for pictures too!    Sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn’t.  I don’t know why

but it is nice when it works.  If you know other tips like this, please feel free to share.

Please help us make the world a more civilized place, one person at a time, by reading our book “A Year of Good Manners”

by Margery Sinclair and Jan Polk.  www.ayearofgoodmanners.com

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month
The blue ribbon is the national symbol of Child Abuse Prevention.

Child abuse is preventable.  Awareness is only the first step.
Stop the abuse before it starts.

For information about Blue Ribbon activities throughout the
month of April go to www.familynurture.org

Family Nurturing Center is one of my favorite charities.

Each of us determines what kind of home we will have.

The government cannot do this for us.   Our beloved free,

civilized society could not exist without the majority

of us being honorable, law-abiding civilized citizens.

We all have a civic duty to behave as civilized people.

“Teaching manners to children is the kindest thing you can do for them,

and it is a long-term project. Teach by example, gently correct,

encourage, quietly remind, praise when you can, and keep on doing it.

Start when they are toddlers and you will have lovely teenagers.” says

Margery Sinclair.  You do not want a home where people are

shouting at each other.

Everything you need to know to become confident and comfortable at home,

in school, in your social life and in business is in our book “A Year of Good Manners.”

You can purchase this book at my website: www.ayearofgoodmanners.com
